On Saturday June 6, 2009 Balmoral Park hosted Runnin' with the Horses 5K Run.
This event gave runners the opportunity to cruise around the grounds of the racetrack.
In the final mile, runners entered the old thoroughbred shoot and charged for home on the track
while horses for the nights races warm up on the outside of the 5k course.
With the track announcer in the booth calling the home stretch moves,
runners dashed to the finish line to complete the course.
